The National Instruments PXI-6514 is an industrial digital I/O module with 64 channels, designed for PXI systems. It features 32 sink/source input channels and 32 source output channels, all isolated in eight banks. This isolation ensures that each bank of I/O is electrically separated from other banks, enhancing safety and reducing noise.

A key feature of the PXI-6514 is its programmable power-up states. This allows users to define the initial output states in software, crucial for safe operation when connected to industrial actuators like motors, valves, and relays. In the event of a computer or application failure, the module's digital I/O watchdogs can switch to a pre-configured safe output state, facilitating fault detection and safe system recovery.

For improved signal integrity, the PXI-6514 incorporates programmable input filters. These filters can be configured in software to eliminate glitches and spikes, as well as provide debouncing for mechanical switches and relays.

The module is compatible with the NI-DAQmx driver software, which supports various programming environments such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Python, ANSI C, and C#.NET. Configuration and testing are simplified through the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) utility.

Connectivity is provided via a 100-pin high-density SCSI connector, compatible with ribbon cables or shielded cables and various connector blocks.
