Holiday Arrangement for National Day 2020

On October 1, 1949, the founding ceremony of the people's Republic of China was held in Tiananmen, the capital of Beijing. Mao Zedong announced the founding of the people's Republic of China, which witnessed a historic moment. Later, at a session of the CPPCC National Committee, it was decided that October 1 should be the national day.

In fact, in the early days of the founding of new China, our country held large-scale National Day ceremonies and military parade ceremonies every year. Later, the system was changed to embody the rule of diligence and thrift.

From 1971 to 1983, on October 1 of each year, Beijing celebrated the national day with large-scale garden parties and other forms, without mass demonstrations. In 1984, the 35th anniversary of the national day, a Grand National Day parade and a mass parade were held. In the next decade or so, other forms of National Day celebration were adopted, and no National Day parade or mass parade was held. On October 1, 1999, during the 50th anniversary of the national day, a Grand National Day parade and a mass parade were held. This is the last Grand National Day celebration of the people's Republic of China in the 20th century.
